What are the board views?

At monday.com, we love to make everything visual: colors, graphs, shapes... So, we came up with the amazing board views. The board views allow you to visualize your board's information in multiple views. 📊 📈 📉

How do I add it?

To add a board view, click on the arrow next to the button "main table" located n the top left of your board. Select add a view as below:

Click on any of the view to create a new view. You can also click on "more view" to access our view center with all our amazing options.

To add a view to your board, click on "add to board". You can also vote for your favorite view by clicking on the heart located at the bottom ❤️

 

How does it work?

Once you've added a view to your board, you can switch back to your main board view in just one click. Click on the view's name located on the top left of your board and select the option "main table"

You can add multiple views to your board and switch back and forth from this menu. You can also delete a view by hovering your mouse on the name of the view and clicking on the trash bin icon:

Can I see a view simultaneously with the table view?  

You can choose to see a view in split-screen mode with the table view below. To do so, click on the settings icon located on the top right of your screen and select "split view" as below:

This view selection is personal will be saved across all boards for that view type. This means if you choose to view the Timeline View "split screen" on one board, it will show up this way on all boards for which you have a Timeline View set up. Additionally, this view setting will only be set up this way for your user in the account.

Can I change the background color?

You sure can! You can either choose a light mode 💡or a dark mode ⚫️. To do so, click on the three dots located on the upper right and select "dark mode" or "light mode" as below:

Can I set a default view?

Do you want to make sure that everyone who views your board is receiving the board's data in the most efficient way possible? You can! Board owners can set a default view for all board viewers and subscribers! This means that everyone who opens up your board will automatically see the default view rather than the "Main Table" view. 

To set a default view, open the views menu and click the 3 dot menu beside the view you wish to select (it must first be added to your board). Next, click "Set as board default" as we've done below:

The default can be switched at any time by following these steps with a different view, including the Main Table view. 

 

Note:  Only board owners can set default views, and they will default for all viewers and subscribers. Don't worry, team members can still view all other views on the board at any time. 

 

 

If a team member opens a different board view, it will become their personal default! The next time they open this board, it will open up automatically to their last-viewed board view rather than the default view.  

 

Can I share my views publicly?

Do you need to put your roadmap in your website? Send customers specific boards or views without needing them to log in? Get all the team in sync by putting a board in a TV in your office? You are now able to do just that with the "share views".

Note:  You can currently apply the share view on your board, timeline, chart and calendar.

What is the Files View?

The Files View allows you to see all the files uploaded within your board in one place. You can view them as a list or as thumbnails. From there, you can download the files, preview them or open them in the update section they are connected to. To learn more about it, check out this article.

What is the map view?

Working with clients internationally, traveling a lot or just looking for a new apartment? Look no further! We came up with the map view just for you! It allows you to see your location and/or country columns in one single map. Check out this article to learn how it works.

What is the timeline view?

The timeline is our own version of the Gantt chart and allows you to manage people and their workload visually. Check out this article to learn more about it.

What is the chart view?

Our Chart View allows you to create various reports for a specific board using different chart types. It is a great way to get analytics about your workflow! monday.com allows you to pick between three types of charts: pie, bar and line.

What is the calendar view?

The calendar board view allows you to visualize all your tasks that have a date/timeline column in a calendar. You can customize your calendar view per day, week or month. You can also decide which column you want to appear on your calendar. Check out this article to learn more about it.

What is the Kanban view? 

This view allows you to turn your board's information into a Kanban view. All you need to do is select the columns for the view in your left panel and your Kanban view of board will be ready! To learn more about how to build your monday.com boards as Kanban, check out this article.

What are the forms?

Convert your boards into forms in just one click, send them to your contacts and watch the information roll in as new items. Click on the Add View tab to add this feature to your board! Check out this article to learn more about it!

What is the workload view? 

Add the workload view to your board and get a clear overview of how your team's work is divided! You can see in one glance who is over capacity and assign upcoming tasks accordingly. If needed, you can always reassign or change due dates to make sure everyone stays on target with the amount of tasks they can complete within that timeframe.

This view is a must to enhance your board's workflow!
