monday campaigns gives admins control over how contacts experience the unsubscribe process and how your team manages subscription status. From locking or unlocking the unsubscribe footer in the email editor, to customizing the page recipients land on after clicking unsubscribe, to resubscribing a contact at their request — all three settings live in one place inside monday campaigns.

Use this article to find and configure each setting.

Where to find these settings

In monday campaigns, open Settings by clicking the cog wheel in the top-right corner. Under the Campaigns Settings group in the left panel, you will find two pages:

  • Unsubscribe Settings — controls the unsubscribe footer and the unsubscribe confirmation page.
  • Manage Subscriptions — shows all unsubscribed contacts and allows you to resubscribe them.

Both pages are visible to admins only. Non-admins will not see these pages in Settings.

Unsubscribe footer

By default, the unsubscribe footer in campaign emails is locked. Your team can see it in the email editor but cannot change or remove it. This protects your account from sending non-compliant emails by accident.

If your team needs to restyle or restructure the footer, you can unlock it from Unsubscribe Settings.

Important: CAN-SPAM, CASL, GDPR, and similar laws require an unsubscribe mechanism in every marketing email. Most accounts should leave the footer locked. Unlocking it makes your team responsible for ensuring every campaign remains compliant.

To unlock the unsubscribe footer:

1 Open Settings and select Unsubscribe Settings under Campaigns Settings.

2 Stay on the Unsubscribe footer tab.

3 Toggle on Allow unsubscribe footer management.

Once the toggle is on, the footer block becomes editable in the email editor. Your team can change the wording, restyle it, or remove it entirely. The company address line remains mandatory regardless of this setting.

Unsubscribe page

When a recipient clicks the unsubscribe link in one of your campaign emails, they land on a page confirming their unsubscribe. You can customize the message on that page to match your brand or communications style.

To customize the unsubscribe page:

1 Open Settings and select Unsubscribe Settings under Campaigns Settings.

2 Switch to the Unsubscribe page tab.

3 Edit the Title text (the heading recipients see) and the Body text (the message underneath).

4 Click Save changes.

Future unsubscribe clicks will land on your customized page.

Manage Subscriptions

When a recipient clicks Unsubscribe in one of your campaign emails, their status updates automatically on your contacts list and they stop receiving future sends. Contacts cannot resubscribe themselves — this is by design to prevent accidental re-additions.

If a contact asks to be added back to your list, an admin can resubscribe them from the Manage Subscriptions page.

To resubscribe a contact:

1 Open Settings and select Subscription management under Campaigns Settings.

2 Locate the contact in the table. The table shows each unsubscribed contact's email address, the date they unsubscribed, and a Resubscribe button.

3 Click Resubscribe next to the contact. A confirmation dialog will appear.

4 Click Resubscribe in the dialog to confirm.

The contact moves back to your active list and will receive future campaigns sent to any segment they qualify for. Their previous engagement history — including bounces, opens, clicks, and complaints — is preserved. Only their consent state changes.

Important: Only resubscribe a contact when you have their explicit permission — for example, a written reply asking to be added back. Keep a record of every resubscribe request (email, screenshot, or support ticket) in case a regulator or the contact later asks why they were re-added to your list.
Note: Resubscribing is one contact at a time. Bulk resubscribe is not supported. To see which contacts unsubscribed during a specific campaign, open the recipient table in Email campaign analytics events and filter by Unsubscribed.

FAQs

Who can access unsubscribe and subscription settings in monday campaigns?

All three settings — the unsubscribe footer toggle, unsubscribe page customization, and Manage Subscriptions — are available to admins only. Non-admins will not see these pages in Settings.

Is it safe to allow my team to edit or remove the unsubscribe footer?

Most accounts should leave the footer locked. Laws such as CAN-SPAM, CASL, and GDPR require an unsubscribe mechanism in every marketing email. If you unlock the footer, your organization is responsible for ensuring every campaign sent remains compliant.

Can a contact resubscribe themselves after unsubscribing in monday campaigns?

No. Contacts cannot resubscribe themselves. Only an admin can resubscribe a contact from the Manage Subscriptions page, and only when the contact has given explicit permission to be re-added.

Does resubscribing a contact clear their engagement history in monday campaigns?

No. Resubscribing a contact only changes their consent state. Their previous engagement history — including bounces, opens, clicks, and complaints — is preserved.

How do I see which contacts unsubscribed from a specific campaign in monday campaigns?

Open the recipient table in Email campaign analytics events and filter by Unsubscribed. The Manage Subscriptions page shows all unsubscribed contacts across all campaigns, not filtered by campaign.
