Verified Caller ID lets you display a real number you already own, such as a mobile, office, or Google Voice number, instead of your monday business number when you place a monday Smart Call. It's useful for calling warm or existing contacts who are more likely to answer a number they recognize.
Use this guide to verify a number and connect it to your monday business number.
What is Verified Caller ID?
Verified Caller ID connects a phone number you already own to one of your monday business numbers. Once connected, calls placed from that monday number show your verified number as the caller ID instead of the monday number itself.
This is different from your assigned monday business number in a few ways:
- Caller ID only - Verified Caller ID changes what the recipient sees; it doesn't change how the call is placed or logged.
- Callbacks go to your real phone - If a contact calls your verified number back, the call rings your actual phone directly. monday isn't involved, and the call isn't recorded or logged to the CRM.
- No expiry - A verified number stays verified until you delete it, and the same number can be verified across multiple monday accounts.
Setting up Verified Caller ID
Step 1: Start verification
1Go to Admin > Usage stats > monday Smart Call.
2Select the monday number you want to connect a verified number to, then click Assign a number.
3Click + Verify a new number and enter a name and the number you want to verify, including the international prefix (for example, +14155551234).
Step 2: Complete verification
1Click Call me. A call will come from +1 (415) 723-4000.
2Answer the call and enter the six-digit code shown on screen.
3Once verified, the number stays available to select for other monday numbers on your account.
Best practices
- Use Verified Caller ID for warm or existing relationships where a recognizable number improves answer rates.
- Keep your monday business number for cold outreach, so calls are still logged and recorded normally through monday.
- Remember that verification does not fix "Spam Likely" flagging, since that's determined at the carrier level, not by monday.
