This guide will walk you through how to integrate monday MCP with ChatGPT. This will enable you to manage tasks, query boards, and automate workflows through natural language conversations.
There are two options for integration setup:
- Native integration
- Full integration
Prerequisites
- MCP is preinstalled on all monday.com accounts.
If you can't connect, ask your admin to check Admin → Permissions → AI Connectors. See Managing AI Connectors & MCP Access for more information. - OAuth consent for monday.com when prompted
How to connect monday MCP and ChatGPT
Native integration (read-only)
The native integration includes read tools for now. To connect, navigate to the ChatGPT settings and then click on Apps & Connectors. Browse apps and click on the monday.com option:
Click on monday.com and then click on Connect:
Full integration (all functionality)
Prerequisites:

https://mcp.monday.com/mcp - To enable this, you need a ChatGPT Plus or Pro subscription
Open up ChatGPT and then open up Settings. Click on Connectors and then on Advanced. Toggle developer mode to On.
Then under Connectors, click Create to add a new MCP connector.
Name the connector (e.g., "monday.com") and then set the MCP server URL to: https://mcp.monday.com/mcp
Click on Create and complete OAuth with monday.com when prompted.
Open up a new chat, click on the plus sign icon, and then click on More. Next, click on Developer tools to enable the connector for your conversation.
Run this prompt as a test: "List my boards."
Verify the integration
Start a new conversation with Developer Mode enabled. Confirm that the monday connector appears in the Tools list and is toggled on. Run a monday action (like "list my monday.com boards") and confirm that you see a successful response.
Troubleshooting

Developer Mode toggle missing? Ensure your account is ChatGPT Plus/Pro and the web app is up to date.

Authorization failed? Ensure your admin has enabled AI Connectors - see Managing AI Connectors & MCP Access for more information.

Tools not showing? Confirm the connector is enabled for the current chat in the Tools menu.
- Permissions error? Verify your monday.com account has access to the boards you're querying.
Security and privacy
OAuth is scoped to your monday.com account, but you can revoke access in monday admin settings.
You can remove or disable the connector anytime by navigating to ChatGPT's Settings and then to Connectors.
Data sent via the connector is used to fulfill your requested actions with monday.
