Get started with monday vibe

Ever wanted to create your very own monday apps but don't have any coding experience? We have just the solution for you: monday vibe. Let's dive into just what monday vibe is and how you can vibe code on monday.com.

What is monday vibe?

monday vibe is an AI-powered app builder that turns simple prompts into fully custom, secure business apps on monday.com

What is vibe coding?

Vibe coding is building apps with written prompts instead of lines of code. All you have to do is describe what you want, and AI generates it. You can then make adjustments and tweaks in a chat with AI, without seeing a single line of code.

How to create an app with monday vibe

Note: Creating vibe apps is only available for paying monday.com accounts (trial accounts can build apps but cannot publish them; free or non-paying accounts cannot create vibe apps).

First, go to monday.com/vibe and sign in to your monday account.Group 1 - 2025-09-15T200410.788.png

If you have one monday account, simply log in. If you have multiple accounts, choose which account you want to use from the dropdown menu in the top right corner of the screen and then click on Authorize:Group 2 (4).png

After you've logged in, enter your prompt or choose a preset app prompt: Group 1 - 2026-03-12T153507.884.png

You also have the ability to choose which board you would like to build your app on by clicking on + Connect boards.

Transcribe with voice prompts

Do you think faster than your can type? Use the speech to text feature to dictate exactly what you want vibe to build for you without having to type a single word:Group 1 - 2026-03-12T153559.479.png

For example, you can say out loud: “Create a library book tracking app for me,” and watch it instantly translated into a structured prompt:download (67).gif

Accessing vibe directly from within monday

From a board

You can also create a vibe app directly from the board you want to use from within the monday platform by either clicking on the vibe button on the toolbar at the top right of the screen or by adding a board view by clicking on the plus sign button at the top of your board.

Here you will also see recommendations for vibe apps you can create for that specific board.Untitled design - 2025-12-31T132209.698.gif

From the Template center

If you don't want to start completely from scratch, you can head to the Template center to choose a vibe template to get started with. Group 29 (39).png

Now it's time to start vibe coding!

Getting started with a vibe app

Write a prompt like "I manage a marketing campaign with 25 employees on my team, build me a time tracking dashboard where my employees can easily log new time and I can see their total hours. Use a professional modern design". Click on Build it and watch as your app comes alive.Screenshot 2025-09-15 at 20.06.30 1.png

Your app will appear in preview mode in the builder. If you want to make any changes or adjustments, you can make your requests in the chat.Screenshot 2025-09-15 at 20.19.32 1.png

Once you are satisfied with your results, click on the Publish button at the top right corner of your screen.

Your view will then be installed directly into your workspace:Screenshot 2025-09-15 at 20.21.13 1.png

After you have created your app, you will see it listed under My apps on monday.com/vibe:Screenshot 2025-09-15 at 20.22.22 1.png

If you want to share this app with other people, follow the steps outlined below.

Who can see what?

Members and guests can view vibe apps (including when it incorporates board information) as long as they have access to those boards.

Viewers cannot view vibe apps that display board information, even if they have access to the board.

Note: If you’re starting fresh from the vibe page and not from within your monday account, you can click connect your data in order to select the relevant boards. vibe will work better if it has context from your existing data.

Creating a vibe app on the item level

You can also create a vibe app on the item level by accessing the item's Item page and then clicking on the + sign to create a new item view, and then finally click on Vibe app.Group 1 - 2025-12-30T141644.757.png

This will open up the vibe editor and will directly open up a new vibe app for that specific item. Type in your prompt to begin building your custom item vibe view:Screenshot 2025-12-31 at 10.09.44 1.png

Note: While using monday sidekick, if you ask to build certain workflows or visualizations, sidekick will suggest to use monday vibe. You can click on the link from sidekick and it will bring you directly to vibe to get started building your app.

Discuss with Vibe before it starts building

Before Vibe starts building, you can use the Discuss feature to get help and direction. To chat with Vibe without creating, click on the Discuss button on the Vibe landing page or in the builder to send your questions, then click Discuss again to return to build mode.

With this feature, you can:

  • Ask for support planning an app (for example, “Help me build a time tracking app”)
  • Check what Vibe can do (like “Can Vibe read formula columns?”)
  • Brainstorm improvements (such as “What features can we add to the app?” or “How can we enhance the app’s UI?”)
  • Troubleshoot issues you run into (for example, “Why can’t I click on the approve button?”)

Multi-board vibe apps

You also have the ability to create vibe apps that use data from up to 5 boards. This will create a full page app that will live on the left pane on your monday account.Untitled design - 2025-12-31T115828.266.gif

In your initial setup, you can select up to 5 boards to use, or you can also ask vibe to create the boards for you.

To connect multiple boards to your vibe app, click on the + Connect your data button on the bottom right:Untitled design - 2025-12-31T114721.585.gif

Some example use cases of what you can build using multiple boards:

  • A dashboard that aggregates data from up to 5 boards
  • An onboarding board that saves materials on one board, and tracks people's progress on another
  • A ticketing system that automatically moves solved tickets to a different board

monday vibe AI-driven apps

You can greatly enhance your app’s capabilities by having your app use AI and search the web! Simply instruct your vibe app, through the chat, to “use AI” or “search the web” in order to incorporate those features. Here are a few examples of what you can build:

  • A chatbot that generates answers based on provided knowledge materials
  • A competitor analysis app that can search data online and create battle cards
  • A social media post generator
  • A dashboard with AI generated insights about your project
  • AI generated insights updated in your board’s items

When using AI capabilities, every AI call your vibe makes will consume 8 AI credits. For example, the system will take 8 credits for each of the following actions:

  • Every generated answer from your app’s chatbot
  • Each generated post that the app creates
  • Every time the dashboard reads your board and updates itself
  • Each update on a board’s items (note: the app will consume 8 credits per individual update, regardless of whether multiple updates are made on the same item)

Tip: You can ask your vibe app to tell you how many credits it will consume, in the chat of the app! Simply ask, “How many credits will this app consume?”

Transferring ownership

App owners can manually transfer ownership to another user in the account. Ownership metadata updates immediately and editing rights move with it.

There a few ways to transfer ownership. You can do so by clicking on the three dot menu found at the top right corner of the vibe app builder and then clicking on Transfer ownership:Group 1 - 2026-03-30T152649.837.png

Admins can view all vibes and claim or reassign ownership from the admin panel by clicking on the three dot menu next to the vibe app you want to transfer ownership for and then clicking on Transfer ownership:Group 1 - 2026-03-30T153152.403.png

You can also transfer ownership in the My apps section by clicking on the three dot menu of the app you want to transfer ownership of and then clicking on Transfer ownership:Group 1 - 2026-03-30T153328.937.png
