With the monday campaigns drag-and-drop editor, you can easily design a campaign template from scratch. The editor has every customization option you need, from utilizing HEX color coding, mail merge, font customization, and standard content blocks to accessibility options like Alt text. Here's how to get started.

Creating a template for a new campaign

Click on the + Create campaign button and then name your new campaign:Screenshot 2025-07-20 at 12.59.01 1.png

To open the drag-and-drop editor, click the Design template button:Group 1 - 2025-07-20T130402.929.png

You'll be taken to the Template gallery, where you'll be able to create a template from scratch, browse through templates created by monday, and browse templates created by your team:Screenshot 2025-07-20 at 13.06.55 1.png

Creating a template from scratch

To create a new template completely, click on Create from scratch, either from the button on the left hand corner or from the Create from scratch template that's at the top of the template gallery.

Email footer

In the preview, you will see the predefined footer of your email. This is locked, meaning that it can't be changed. The information in the footer includes:

  • your company's address
  • an unsubscribe link

Group 1 - 2025-07-20T131434.858.png

Note: These options are mandatory and must be included to comply with anti-spam laws. To adjust your company's address, reach out to your account's admin. They can change the company's address in the monday campaigns global settings.

Footer customization

Admins can enable footer customization for the unsubscribe link in the Account Settings. Marketers can then edit the footer to match their brand or remove it altogether.

Warning: Allowing users to remove the unsubscribe footer may result in non-compliant emails. Your organization is responsible for ensuring all sent campaigns meet applicable email regulations.

To enable this option, open Settings:

Open Unsubscribe Settings and toggle on the Allow unsubscribe footer management setting:

Content tab

The Content tab is the default tab in the editor. Here, you can add content blocks to build your design:Group 1 - 2025-07-20T132131.990.png

To add a content block, drag the block from the left to the preview on the right. Once you add the block, you can click into the block and edit it according to your preferences:Untitled design - 2025-07-20T132851.825.gif

To return to the list of content blocks at any time, click on the Content tab.

Reply button

You can ensure that your email recipients have an option to reply to your email by adding a Reply button.

Add a button and label it as you wish ("reply to us", "reply", etc.) and then open the button configuration on the left. You'll then see several actions you can choose from.

You can add a link to open up a landing page, open up a response email in your recipient's email app, make a call, or send an SMS message.Group 1 - 2025-12-11T110609.468.png

You can even add in placeholder text for the recipient to start with, like "I need help with..."Group 1 - 2025-12-11T111542.524.png

Merge tags

With any text element, you can add mail merge tags. To add a tag when writing text, click on the Merge tags button to review your options and add a tag:Group 1 - 2025-07-20T133128.521.png

Customization options

There are many customization options for your content blocks. Some content blocks have customization options specific to the type of content block. Here are a few highlights:

  • Adjust the style of your List:

  • Adjust the style, size, color, and width of any Divider:

  • Using the Image block, upload any image from your computer and define the width automatically or make custom adjustments. Include Alt text for your image and assign an Action to the image, whether linking out to a URL, populating an email draft, sending a text, or initiating a call:Screenshot 2025-07-20 at 13.36.16 1.png

Note: When adding an image to an email in campaigns, it is best to use JPG or PNG as opposed to SVG, which might not load properly for different inbox clients (like Gmail, for example).

  • With the Social block, you can add links to your socials and remove any irrelevant icons. The options are Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, and LinkedIn:Screenshot 2025-07-20 at 13.37.44 1.png

  • Add a Spacer and adjust the height:Screenshot 2025-07-20 at 13.39.44 1.png

  • Add an HTML block to write or paste HTML in your template:Screenshot 2025-07-20 at 13.41.04 1.png

  • Add your logo with the Icon block. Include Alt text for your image and assign an Action to the image, whether linking out to a URL, populating an email draft, sending a text, or initiating a call:Screenshot 2025-07-20 at 13.42.37 1.png

  • Add a Video block and paste a link from YouTube or Vimeo. You can then adjust the display title of the video and the play icon type, color, and size:

Rows tab

If you want to adjust the layout of your email template, visit the Rows tab. From here, you can add a row to change the layout of your email:Group 1 - 2025-07-20T135034.295.png

To explore a category of rows, open the drop-down menu on the left.

Default rows

The Default rows can be used as mini templates. If you find the idea of building from scratch intimidating, Default rows are the best place to start!

With a Default row, the text size, image size, and other elements are designed to complement each other. All you have to do is customize the content:

Empty rows

When you first click on this tab, you will see Empty rows. These rows allow you to adjust the base layout of your email. From there, you can add content blocks on the Content tab:Screenshot 2025-07-20 at 13.53.26 1.png

Predefined rows

There is only one Predefined row. Though the footer will be automatically added to any template built in monday campaigns, this section is where you can find the mandatory footer:Screenshot 2025-07-20 at 13.54.48 1.png

Settings tab

Several options can be found in the Settings tab. Here you can:

  • adjust the content area width
  • change the content area alignment
  • change the font
  • adjust the color of the background, content area background, and links

Group 1 - 2025-07-20T135620.402.png
