Apps marketplace billing: purchasing an app

The monday marketplace offers a variety of apps you can incorporate into your monday account to elevate your workflow and work even more efficiently. There are both free and paid apps, and if you want to try out an app before purchasing it, there is a 14-day trial period to get a feel for it.

Most apps will be billed directly through monday, so you can pay for the app and manage it directly through the platform itself. For apps that don't support billing directly through monday, you will need to contact the app developer directly to purchase and manage the subscription.

App plan types, purchasing, and trial

There are two ways that apps billed through monday are priced: by feature and by seats.

For seat-based plans, when purchasing an app, you'll purchase an app based on the amount of total seats in your monday plan.

Once your 14-day trial has expired, you will not be automatically charged for the full subscription. You will need to manually purchase the app at the end of the trial period.

In terms of extending a trial period, this can only be done directly through the app developer. We cannot guarantee a discount, but you can reach out to the developer and ask.

Note: If you have multiple products, you'll need to purchase an app based on the number of seats of your primary product

Managing apps

Account admins can manage app subscriptions. This is done by navigating to your profile picture at the top of the screen and then clicking on the Administration tab. Once there, click on Apps, and then you'll see the following screen:Group 64 - 2024-11-12T172137.621.png

As the account administrator, you'll be able to see the app name, who installed it, the date it was installed, the plan it is currently on, and other plans available.

You can also see your app billing by click on the three dot menu on the right of the app you want to learn more about and then clicking on Billing from the dropdown menu.

Then you'll be directed to the app's page, where you'll see the See plans button: Group 64 - 2024-11-12T172706.099.png

From there, you'll be directed to the app's pricing plan page:Screenshot 2024-11-12 at 17.26.19 1.png

If you have not yet paid, you'll see a button that says Update plan instead of See plans.

You will receive email notifications for new subscriptions, renewals, upgrades and downgrades, and cancellations. You will not receive any emails for failed charges on an app purchase.

Cancelling an app subscription

Once you uninstall an app, your payment will be automatically cancelled on the renewal date, and the subscription will end on the renewal date.

Cancelling your monday.com plan will not automatically cancel existing app subscriptions.

If you cancel your monday.com account, you must check to see that any app subscriptions you may have are cancelled first, as the two are separate. This is to make sure you avoid any app subscription payments after having cancelled your monday account.

Payment failure

If one of your app subscription payments fail, you will have a 45 day grace period to change the payment method or resolve the issues with your current payment method.

If no valid payment method has been provided within the 45 days, we will receive an automatic cancellation request and you will lose access to the app. If you want to renew an app subscription after that happens, you can then repurchase an app subscription with a valid form of payment.
