Paying for a monday.com app is simple and secure through the monday apps marketplace. You can choose from different pricing tiers, manage billing details, and update or cancel subscriptions directly from your account — all in just a few clicks.
Follow this guide to understand the ins and outs of paying for apps available for use on monday.com.
Free trials for monday apps
Many apps in our marketplace have free trials to start with so you can test out an app before committing to a subscription.
Some apps provide more advanced features that require payment. Additionally, some apps support billing directly through monday.com, so you can pay for the app and manage your subscription directly in your monday.com account without involving a third-party payment system.
Apps pricing
There are two types of plans each with different pricing models: feature-based and seat-based.
1 Feature-based: Feature-based pricing breaks app functionality or consumption into different tiers. You can select your subscription tier based on your desired functionality or consumption level, so you won't need to pay for anything you don't need
For example, an app can offer up to 50 actions on the basic plan, 100 on the intermediate plan, 250 on the advanced plan, and 500 on the premium plan. You can then pick the plan that best suits your monthly needs!
2 Seat-based: Seat-based pricing breaks groups of permitted users into different tiers. You can select whichever tier best fits the number of seats your organization requires
For example, an app can offer up to 100 seats on the basic plan, 200 on the intermediate plan, 500 on the advanced plan, and unlimited on the premium plan. You can then decide how many seats you need and purchase the closest corresponding tier.

How to cancel subscription for a third-party app
1 Navigate to the app's Billing tab
2 Click on the three-dot menu located next to Use App on the top right corner of your screen
3 Select Cancel subscription from the dropdown menu
Your subscription will be cancelled at the end of your current billing cycle.
How to transfer external app payments to monday billing
Some apps have transitioned from external third-party billing to billing within monday. Unfortunately, we cannot see any previous subscriptions you may have with a third-party app from our side.
If you’ve already paid for the app externally outside of monday, first contact the app partner, as we don't want you to be charged twice!
The app partner will give you detailed instructions on how to transition your payments from their external system to the monday.com platform.
When to contact the app partner
As mentioned throughout this guide, there are a few instances where you will need to contact the partner of the app for further clarification if the app does not support billing through monday:
- To pay for the app and manage your subscription
- To access your billing history
- To cancel your subscription
- To consult regarding payment details for external apps that have transitioned to monday
Contacting an app partner is easily done straight from the app marketplace:
1 Navigate to the app whose developers you'd like to contact
2 Click the three-dot menu next to Use App (or See plans) and select Contact developer
This will automatically open an email to the app partner.
And that's it! With the help of apps, you can analyze and visualize your data in new, dynamic ways and collaborate more effectively across your organization. Expanding the capabilities of your work OS has never been easier!
