Today is a day to celebrate! Two monday.com favorites, monday AI and monday Automations, have teamed up to form monday AI Automations. Now, you can unite the intelligence of monday AI and the efficiency of monday Automations in new and improved ways to power up your workflow.

With the implementation of monday AI Automations, you can't lose. Who doesn't love a power couple? 😍 

 

What is monday AI?

monday AI is the incorporation of artificial intelligence technology into the monday.com platform. All of the tools that utilize monday AI were built internally at monday.com by a few different teams on a shared infrastructure.

 

Who can use monday AI?

When a user first interacts with monday AI, if monday AI hasn't been approved for their account, they will need to submit a request to their Admin for approval. When a request is made, the admin will receive an email. To use monday AI, the Admin must agree to the monday AI Terms and Conditions. This process occurs differently for Enterprise users.

 

 

The admin can also disable monday AI on the account via the Administration section. To learn how to do this, please visit the "How to disable monday AI" in the "Get started with monday AI" article.

 

What are Automations?

Automations are a no-code way to tell monday.com to automatically complete a task or processes. The most basic automation consists of a trigger and an action. You can set up an automation once, and every time the trigger occurs (for example, "when a new item is created" is a popular trigger), the action you designate will be completed.

monday AI Automation blocks

At present there are several categories of AI blocks that you can use in automations. Here are the different action blocks to choose from:

• Categorize by AI (item name)
• Categorize by AI (text column)
• Summarize text with AI (item name)
• Summarize text with AI (text column)
• Improve text with AI (item name)
• Improve text with AI (text column)
• Detect a sentiment with AI (text column)
• Translate text with AI (item name)
• Translate text with AI (text column)
• Custom block (use AI)
• Writing assistant (text column)

Categorize by AI

There are two AI categorize blocks:

• Categorize by AI using the item name
• and Categorize by AI using a text column

You can add the "Categorize by AI" blocks when building a custom automation or by searching "categorize" in the Automation center and choosing from the available templates:

When a categorize automation is triggered, monday AI will read the text in the designated field on your board and determine which label (if you're using a status column) or labels (if you're using a dropdown column) are the best match.

Summarize text with AI

There are two AI summarize blocks:

• Summarize text with AI using the item name
• and Summarize text with AI using a text column

You can add the "Summarize text with AI" blocks when building a custom automation or by searching "summarize" in the Automation center and choosing from the available templates:

When a summarize text automation is triggered, monday AI will read the text in a designated field on your board and summarize the text in a separate designated field. 

 

Improve text with AI

There are two AI improve text blocks:

• Improve text with AI using the item name
• and Improve text with AI using a text column

You can add the "Improve text with AI" blocks when building a custom automation or by searching "improve" in the Automation center and choosing from the available templates:

When an improve text automation is triggered, monday AI will read the text in a designated field on your board and refine the text in a separate designated field.

In general, monday AI's improve text blocks will lend your text a more professional and presentable tone. It will also correct grammar! For example:

• Original text: That's kinda cool, but I think it could be a lot better.
• Improved text: That's quite cool, but I believe it has the potential to be significantly better.

 

Detect sentiment with AI

You can add the "Detect sentiment with AI" block when building a custom automation or by searching "sentiment" in the Automation center and choosing from the available templates:

With this AI block, you'll be able to detect the sentiment of the text on your board.

 

Translate text with AI

There are two AI translate blocks:

• Translate text with AI using the item name
• and Translate text with AI using a text column

You can add the "Translate text with AI" block when building a custom automation or by searching "translate" in the Automation center and choosing from the available templates:

When a translate text automation is triggered, monday AI will read the text in a designated field on your board and translate the text to the specified language you've chosen. 

 

Custom block: "use AI"

With the our custom block, you can use AI to do a variety of things! This automation can be used to:

• summarize the data in another columns
• generate replies
• enrich & extract column data
• translate column data into another language
• and more

The key with the custom block is to give monday AI very clear and specific instructions. Tell monday AI what you need, create the automation, and watch it work! You can revise and test your instructions as many times as needed to make sure you're getting the results you want.

Writing assistant (text column)

With the writing assistant block, you can provide a simple prompt that will guide the AI assistant to write the perfect text you need for your Text column. Click on the three dot menu and then choose Autofill with AI.

 

Select Writing assistant in the dropdown menu and then fill in the prompt for the text that you need the AI assistant to write. Then choose the tone and length you're looking for, and watch the AI assistant create the perfect text right in front of your eyes!
