Using monday WorkForms, you can create and use custom forms to collect, track, and analyze data while automatically syncing with your monday.com boards and workflows.
In this article, we'll learn all about how to customize WorkForms using the various settings and permissions that we offer. Let's dive in! 🙌
Customize the look and feel of your WorkForm
Using WorkForms, customizing and designing the form of your dreams is as easy as can be! Check out the options below to give your form the look and feel that you need.
- Add a background color or image
To modify the background color or image of your WorkForm, click on the image icon on the right of your screen. In the "color" tab, you can choose one a background color of choice and in the "Image" tab, you'll find some of our favorite background images to choose from, or you can upload your own!
- Adjust the alignment of your WorkForm
Clicking on the grid icon on the right of your screen will allow you to adjust the placement of your WorkForm amongst its background. You can choose to align the form to the left, right, or center, and whether you'd like to have a frame surrounding it or not!
- Edit the text color and font
By clicking on the "T" icon on the far right, you can change up the text color and font that are displayed on your WorkForm.
- Choose the text direction
Last but not least, we also offer support of RTL (right to left) languages. If you'd like to change your form text to go from right to left, you can do so by clicking on the button with the two arrows on the far right of your screen.
Choose the format of your form
When setting up your WorkForm, you can choose whether you'd like your form questions presented all at once in one singular view (known as the "classic" format), or if you'd like each question to show up individually (known as the "one by one" format).
Keep reading to learn more in depth about what each of these formatting options mean!
- Classic format
With the classic format, all the questions in your WorkForm will appear in one view. The form responder can see all the questions at once and simply scroll down as they complete the questions within the form.
- One by one format
The one by one format allows the questions from your form to appear individually while the form is being filled out, eliminating the need to scroll and navigate between different questions. Using this formatting type, the form submitter can focus on each question without being overwhelmed by the entire form.
Adjust your WorkForm settings
Once you have your ideal form layout with superb questions and descriptions (if you so chose), it is time to move on to the finalizing stage! From the "Customize" tab, you can make the following setting adjustments:
- Submission View
In the "Submission View" section, you'll be able to customize the submission button with text of your choice! You can also choose to hide WorkForm branding from your finalized form.
- Form Restrictions
To ensure that your form is up to your team's security standards, you can set up form restrictions! We offer the option to add reCAPTCHA onto your form (to prevent fraudulent form responses), to restrict the form answer to team members only, to redirect account members if they are not currently signed into your account, to make the form submission anonymous, and to automatically stop submissions on a specific date.
- Thank you screen
In the "Thank you screen" tab you can customize the title text and description of the submission! You can also allow for redirection to a new URL after submission, add a resubmit button for multiple submissions and choose whether to hide the success image or not.
- monday.com settings
Finally, in the "monday.com settings" section, you can choose whether the "name" and "update" questions will appear on your form. The "name" question will include the board's first column within the form which is commonly used to capture names, and the "update" question allows you to collect free-form text which will be added to the updates section of an item.
This section also allows you to define which group the answers from your form will go to within your board, and whether you'd like to allow the form submissions to create new items on your board.
