How do I pay for a monday app?

 

So you’ve found a monday app in the apps marketplace that will help you manage and execute your projects effortlessly—we know you'll love it! Now comes the next step—paying the app developer! Follow this guide to understand the ins and outs of paying for apps available for use on our platform. Let's dive in! 😊

Are some monday apps free?

Many apps in our marketplace have free trials to start with so you can test out an app before committing to a subscription!  Some apps provide more advanced features that require payment. Additionally, some apps support billing directly through monday.com, so you can pay for the app and manage your subscription directly in your monday.com account without involving a third-party payment system!

 

How do I pay for an app?

If an app supports billing through monday, first ensure the app is installed in your account. Then, complete the following steps: 

Click on the "Installed Apps" button located in the top right corner of the apps marketplace. Click on the relevant app:

You will be redirected to the app's main page. Click on the "Billing" tab found in the menu at the top left of your screen:

Once in the "Billing" tab, click on "Upgrade plan":

Choose a plan to your liking based on what works best for you and your team! Once you select a plan, click on "Continue to checkout" located at the bottom right corner of your screen:

Tip: Choose the yearly billing option to save up to 20% of the monthly billing price depending on the app! 💰 

 

Pay by major credit card or PayPal and click "Complete your purchase" at the bottom right corner of your screen:

Note: For apps that don’t support billing through monday, you’ll need to contact the app developer to pay for the app and manage your subscription.

 

How do I access my billing history or invoices?

You can see a specific app's payment history or access an invoice in the app's "Billing" tab (illustrated above). Once there, click on the three dot menu located next to "Use App" in the top right corner of your screen:

Note: If an app does not support billing through monday, you will need to contact the app developer to access your billing history or invoices.

 

How do I cancel my subscription for a third-party app?

If you’ve already paid for an app and would like to cancel your subscription, navigate to the app's "Billing" tab (illustrated above) and clicking on the three dot menu located next to "Use App" in the top right corner of your screen. Select "Cancel subscription" from the dropdown menu and your subscription will be cancelled at the end of your current billing cycle.

 

Note: If an app does not support billing through monday, you will need to contact the app developer to cancel your subscription.

 

How do I transfer external app payments to monday billing?

Some apps have transitioned from external third-party billing to billing within monday. Unfortunately, we cannot see any previous subscriptions you may have with a third-party app from our side. If you’ve already paid for the app externally outside of monday, first contact the app developer, as we don't want you to be charged twice! The app developer will give you detailed instructions on how to transition your payments from their external system to the monday.com platform. 😊 

 

Note: If the app does not support billing through monday, you will need to continue paying the app developer directly.

 

When do I need to contact the app developer?

As mentioned throughout this guide, there are a few instances where you will need to contact the developer of the app for further clarification if the app does not support billing through monday:

  • To pay for the app and manage your subscription
  • To access your billing history
  • To cancel your subscription
  • To consult regarding payment details for external apps that have transitioned to monday

Contacting an app developer is easily done straight from the app marketplace. Click on "Installed Apps" in the upper right corner of the apps marketplace and select an installed app. Click the three dot menu next to "Use App" and select "Contact developer." This will automatically open an email to the app developer!
