monday vibe: manage apps and data with agents

Who can use this feature

Both monday agents and external agents connect directly with monday Vibe, the app-building environment inside monday.com. Your agent can read data from any Vibe app, create, update, and delete items, manage app publications, and ask questions about app data, all without any additional setup.

This gives you a single, AI-powered workflow where your agent doesn't just answer questions; it actively manages the data and structure of your Vibe apps as work happens!

What your agent can do with Vibe

Both monday agents and external agents have access to the same set of Vibe capabilities:

  • List all Vibe apps in your account
  • Get details about a specific Vibe app
  • Create new items in a Vibe app
  • Update existing items
  • Delete items
  • Ask read-only questions about data in any Vibe app
  • Manage app publications

Tip: Use the Activity tab after each agent run to confirm changes landed as expected, especially when the agent is writing to or deleting data in a Vibe app.

Managing Vibe app data with an agent

To get started with a monday agent, open the AI Agents tab in your left pane and set up or open an existing agent.

Once your agent has access to the relevant Vibe app, you can prompt it to read data, create or update items, delete records, or manage app publications using plain language, just as you would describe the task to a teammate.

If you have an agent built on an external platform, you can bring it into monday.com and use it with Vibe just as you would with an agent built on monday.com. To learn how to connect an external agent, see Bring your external agent into monday.com.

Note: Your agent operates within the permissions you define. Make sure the agent has been granted the appropriate level of access (read-only or read-write) before prompting it to modify your Vibe app data.

Tips for getting the most out of agents in Vibe

  • Grant your agent the minimum permissions needed for its task: read-only access for reporting and answering questions, read-write only when the agent needs to create, update, or delete data.
  • Use plain, specific language when prompting your agent. The more precisely you describe the task, the more predictable the result.
  • Review agent activity in the Activity tab after each run to confirm changes were applied as expected.

FAQs

Do monday agents and external agents have the same Vibe capabilities?

Yes. Both monday agents and external agents have access to the same Vibe tools, including listing apps, reading data, creating and updating items, deleting items, and managing publications.

Does my agent work with Vibe automatically, or do I need to configure something first?

Your agent connects to Vibe apps out of the box with no additional setup required. Just make sure the agent has been granted the appropriate access permissions for the Vibe app you want it to work with.

Can an agent delete items in my Vibe app?

Yes. When granted read-write access, your agent can create, update, and delete items in a Vibe app. Grant read-only access if you want the agent to answer questions without making any changes.

Where can I review what my agent did in a Vibe app?

Open the Activity tab in the AI Agents section to see a full log of each run, including what actions the agent took, when it ran, and why.

Can I use an agent built on an external platform with Vibe?

Yes. External agents brought into monday.com have the same Vibe capabilities as monday agents. See Bring your external agent into monday.com to get started.
