monday.com is updating its Salesforce integration to a new package that aligns with Salesforce’s official partnership and security requirements. To keep your integration working without interruption, you will need to migrate to the new package.
Who needs to take action
This migration includes two steps and may involve two different people:
- A Salesforce admin must install the new Salesforce package
Why this update is required
The new Salesforce package is part of an updated integration framework aligned with Salesforce’s official partner model and security standards. This helps ensure your integration remains secure, supported, and available going forward.
Who is impacted
This applies if you use Salesforce with monday.com, including the following:
- Salesforce automation integrations
- Salesforce 2-way sync integrations
What to know before starting
To avoid being charged, the admin must fully remove the package from Salesforce. Disabling the integration on monday.com alone is not sufficient.
Step 1: Admins Install the new Salesforce package
If you are an admin, you will have received email communication telling you to install the new package.
A Salesforce admin must install the new package before you can reconnect your integration inside monday.com.
- The password for installation is:
monday_com
Step 2: Reconnect your Salesforce integration
If your connection still uses the previous package, you may see the following:
- A banner indicating your Salesforce connection needs to be updated. If you have more than one connection, all will be to be updated.
- A status showing that action is required
- A Reconnect button in the context menu
If the package has not yet been installed, you may be prompted to return later.
After the package is installed, you will need to reconnect your Salesforce connection inside monday.com.
In the platform, you will see a notification that says: "A Salesforce admin must install the updated package first. Once it's installed, reconnect your Salesforce connection in My Connections to continue using the integration."
Once you click on the notification, follow these steps:
1Open Connections in the Autopilot hub.
2Find the Salesforce connection marked as requiring an update
3Click on the three-dot menu on the left of the integration and select Reconnect . You can also click the Update Required status button as well to initiate the reconnection step.
4Follow the connection flow and complete setup. You can select which package version will be used, and if the package is installed and you are allowed to use it, select the "Updated" package.
Once complete, your Salesforce integration will continue working through the new package.
If the new package has not been installed yet
If you try to reconnect before installation, the process will not complete successfully.
In this case:
- Ask your Salesforce admin to install the new package
- Ask your Salesforce admin to authorize your access to the packaged app
- Wait for confirmation that installation is complete
- Return to monday.com and reconnect your integration
What happens to existing integrations
There is no immediate forced cutover. However, we recommend making these updates by June 5th in order to ensure a smooth transition.
- Existing integrations can continue working
- You can migrate gradually
- Both packages will be supported for a limited time
Once Salesforce retires the previous package, connections that were not migrated will stop working. To avoid disruption, complete the migration as soon as possible.
What to expect after installing new package
If you were using the previous Salesforce integration, your setup relied on webhook simulation via Apex code to detect and sync changes. The Salesforce 2-way sync app is built entirely on a polling mechanism, which replaces this approach for all Salesforce integrations.
What changes for you
- Sync frequency moves from near-instant to every 3 minutes.
- Instead of consuming Apex runs, the integration uses Salesforce API calls at each polling interval.
- Polling provides a consistent and predictable sync, so your data stays up to date without relying on real-time webhook triggers.
