While weekends can be enabled or disabled on an account level, we at monday.com understand the need to have this function customizable on a board level.
Your wish is our command 🧞♂️
Customize your calendar
Being able to customize whether weekends are selectable in your calendar, enables you to determine which days to include in you schedule for a particular project. To customize the calendar in your Date Column or Timeline Column, click on the three dots in the top right-hand corner of the column, select "Settings", followed by "Customize Date column":
From the Date Column settings, you can select the checkbox to the left of "Enable weekend selection".
Where weekends were previously greyed out, by choosing to enable the weekends, you will be able to select dates in your timeline that fall on the weekend.
Calculating durations
When you have a Timeline + Numeric Combo on your board for calculating durations, enabling weekends will impact the duration of new items by adding two extra days to the calculation. However, for items on your board that existed before you enabled weekends, the duration column will not change retroactively.
Setting dependencies
If you have enabled weekends on your Timeline Column, when setting dependencies, weekends will be considered as selectable dates to be included in the start/end date.
If you have enabled weekends previously, and wish to revert back to disabling weekends, the dependency dates will not shift retroactively but will appear greyed out in the Timeline.
