Want to track the overall progress from your team and their projects? Introducing the Battery Widget in Dashboards!
How to add it?
Click on "Add New" at the top of the Dashboard page to see the list of options and select Battery as below:
How does it work?
Step 1: Choose your boards
The very first step is to choose the boards you would like to get information from.
In this example, let's say we are building four new restaurants for our chain. This is our main project. Each restaurant is a board. The goal is to see the overall progress of this project. We will select the 4 restaurants as in the picture above.
Step 2: Choose the status
Choose the status column from those boards you want to track -
You will see the option to select all of them or just a select few columns you want to see. This is great if you want to track the progress of tasks. In our example, we will select the status column of each restaurant (we don't really need the priority one so we will mark it unchecked).
Step 3: Choose the weight
Then select the desired weight you want to track by if relevant. Some tasks take much longer than others to complete and this is an important factor to take into consideration. In this example we can pick here a weight per hour.
Step 4: Select the groups
Finally, you can also customize it further by choosing select groups from the boards you chose-
Let's say on each restaurant we only want to see the progress of the operations department, we will select "operations". You can also select everything if you want to see the progress of all the groups.
Battery Drill Down
Once you have this widget, you can drill down and when you click on the status itself it can show you exactly what items have this status currently (see gif):
Continuing on our restaurant example, you can also create one battery widget for each restaurant.
This can allow you to see in one glance which restaurant is progressing the best. You can then create a general progress bar showing the progression of 4 restaurants together as we just did above. This is how it will look like:
How to rename it?
Once added, you can rename your widget. To do so, click on the arrow on the right of the widget's title and select "rename"
How to delete it?
To delete your widget, click on the arrow on the right of the widget's title and select "delete" as below:
