Connect monday MCP with Microsoft Copilot Studio

This guide will allow you to add the monday MCP server as a tool to any agent you build in Copilot Studio using the native connector.

Note: This article is intended for those who want to build agents themselves in Copilot Studio - not via the Teams app.

Prerequisites

1 Microsoft Copilot Studio account

2 Generative orchestration enabled in your agent

MCP is preinstalled on all monday.com accounts. If you can't connect, ask your admin to check Admin → Permissions → AI Connectors. See Managing AI Connectors & MCP Access.

How to connect monday MCP with Copilot Studio

Optional: Create a new agent in Copilot Studio

Open Microsoft Copilot Studio and click on Create new agent. Once you have created a new agent, navigate to the Tools tab.

Add 'monday.com MCP' as a tool

Click on Add tool, then slect the tab Model Context Protocol. Scroll and select the 'monday.com MCP.'Group 1 - 2025-10-26T170514.432.png

Create the initial connection

This steps creates the maker connection, which if you choose can later be used by other users (though this is not recommended unless you have a service user setup).

If you have multiple monday accounts, this is where you should select the correct monday instance.Group 1 - 2025-10-26T170811.160.png

Once done, select add to agent. By default, each user will be required to create their own credentials once they use this agent.

However, you can configure the agent to use the make credentials, and therefore users will not have to input any credentials when using the agent.Group 1 - 2025-10-26T171012.505.png

Testing your connection

Enter the following in the testing pane on the right: 'what is my email on monday.com'

This will prompt you as a user to create a new connection. Once you have created this new connection, click 'retry' and the agent should now be able to retrieve your user information from monday.com

Share this agent with all users in the account and start using Copilot with your monday.com account!Group 1 - 2025-10-26T171837.619.png

What's next?

You can now publish this agent and share it with other users, making it accessible anywhere in your organization where Copilot has been enabled. These include:

  • Teams
  • Microsoft 365 Copilot
  • Word
  • Excel
  • Slack

And many more!
