Overview
In the coming months, monday CRM will gradually release V2 of Sequences. From today forward, all new sequences will be on the V2 framework. Inactive sequences will also move to the new framework. Your account's existing sequences will continue to run on the Sequences V1 framework unless you make a change to them.
This article will explain what to expect and best practices for an easy transition.
Main benefits of V2
Immediate benefits
There are many immediate and future benefits to the new Sequences V2. You can expect:
- New Sequence capabilities
- Conditional runs. In the new version of Sequences, you can set conditional steps to determine whether or not a lead moves to the next step in the interaction flow.
- Attachments. You can attach files to outgoing emails.
- Timing visibility. You will have visibility into the expected timing of the next step in your sequences, and timing estimates will be more precise than the timing in Sequences V1.
- Increased stability
- Resiliency. You can expect more resiliency. While this is mostly visible backstage, you will witness this change as fewer issues with your sequence runs.
Future benefits
In addition to these immediate benefits, all future improvements to Sequences will only be accessible through Sequences V2.
What to expect as we launch V2
From today forward, all new sequences will be on the V2 framework. Inactive sequences will also move to the new framework. However, your account's existing sequences will continue to run on the Sequences V1 framework unless you make a change.
We recommend moving your active sequences to the new framework as soon as possible. You can do this by:
- editing them,
- deactivating them,
- or duplicating or building a new sequence to accomplish the same task.
Best practices for an easy transition
To avoid disruption to your current customer or client flow, we recommend the following best practices for all sequences that occur over 2 months or less:
- We recommend that you duplicate your active sequence or create a new sequence to reproduce the incomplete steps of the active sequence and enroll all new customers or clients in it.
- If you duplicate a sequence, be sure to update all automation or workflows associated with the sequence.
- Make the names of the new sequences similar to the old sequence but distinctly different to avoid confusion.
- Allow all existing runs of your sequences on the old framework to complete, then deactivate them.
If your active sequences take place over more than 2 months, you will experience less disruption by:
- Proactively planning to terminate current runs of your sequences and migrating customers to a new sequence or manual process to complete their interaction flow.
