Overview

Emails & Activities summaries are powered by AI to generate concise summaries of interactions and communication with leads and customers in monday CRM. The summaries will be logged on your Emails & Activities timeline. 

Key benefits

AI summaries simplify the research process for sales reps and managers. AI summaries provide a concise overview of all communication events, including emails, calls, meetings, and notes. Sales and support teams can use these summaries to quickly understand their team's engagement history with a lead or customer.

Creating a summary

To access this feature, open Emails & Activities. At the top of your timeline, you will see a button that says Summarize:

When you click the button, a summary will be generated. You can then review the proposed summary:

Then you can choose whether to add the summary to your timeline. If you don't want to add the summary to your timeline, you click Cancel:

To generate a new summary, exit the window and click the Summarize button again.

Privacy and permissions

Permission to use monday AI

To use AI summary on a Pro account, an account admin must approve AI usage for the account. 

For Ultimate accounts, the feature will only be available if an account admin has approved your account's use of AI with your Account Manager.

Private activities and events

All privacy settings for Emails & Activities are still in effect for the AI summary. However, if you or another team member can see private activities or events, such as private emails, that private information will be included in the summary. In this case, you will see a warning that adding a summary to the timeline might expose private information to the rest of your team.

FAQs

How far back does the timeline summary go?

There isn't a time limit on the summary, but there are limits on events and activities. The AI summary will summarize the last 10 timeline events or activities. 

What does the feature summarize?

The feature will summarize the 10 most recent timeline activities or events. It will disregard other AI summaries in the timeline. If an event or activity exceeds 35,000 characters, it will not be summarized.

How often can I use this feature?

For accounts with a Pro or Ultimate plan, each user can only create 10 summaries per day.

What languages can you use with the AI Timeline Summary?

We're starting with English, but this feature will soon be available for any language based on your team's Emails & Activities content.

How accurate are the AI summaries?

Because the summary relies on your team's recorded events and activity, the accuracy of AI-generated summaries depends heavily on the quality and completeness of the data recorded in your monday CRM.
