As a developer, your workflow likely already includes a CI/CD practice. If you use the CircleCI platform, you can connect it directly into your monday dev account! Learn more about how the CircleCI integration will help you seamlessly incorporate the platform into your monday dev processes.
Which events are involved?
The CircleCI templates will allow you to automate processes that involve two kinds of events: workflow completed and job completed.
Each event has a template, so when either a workflow or job end with a specific status (for example, "success" or "failure"), a new item can be created and populated with the workflow or job data.
How to use the templates
To use the CircleCI templates, navigate to the Automation center, search for "CircleCI" and then select which template you want to use.
Once you fill in the organization, project, job status, and item that you want the template to impact, your CircleCI automation is complete and integrated into your board.
Important to know
- The integration relies on a CircleCI personal API token and an organization ID. While tokens can potentially access multiple organizations, we limit their scope to the specified organization during connection setup.
- Token permissions can be granted at the organization or project level. To create or delete webhooks, a user must have admin privileges within the organization or specific project. Only admins can create the first automation for a project.
- Other automations can be created by users with lower permissions since the necessary webhook is already in place. If all automations for a project are deleted, admin privileges are again required to establish the initial webhook for new automation
This is just the beginning for CircleCI templates, so keep an eye out for more coming your way!
