behind monday CRM's Data enrichment, fueled by Crunchbase. This feature integrates Crunchbase's incomparable data with our CRM, enabling automated context capture and helping your team scale impact. Read on to learn how you can harness this power! ⚡️

How it works

Setup

Automated context-capture is enabled by default; you don't need to do anything to set up CRM Data
enrichment. The CRM Data Enrichment app will be active on your Accounts board when you create it. You can also use the enrichment feature by manually selecting a company from the dropdown menu when creating a new item on your board.

Note: You do not need a Crunchbase account to use this app.

How to use the integration

To initiate automated context-capture, simply add the company's domain and the app will then pull in data
from Crunchbase.

Account domain

The integration pulls in data from Crunchbase using the company's domain. You must input a valid company URL to pull in the correct data.

For example, if you input "https://www.monday.com", you'll learn all about us! But if you just enter "monday.com" or "www.monday.com", you won't find what you're looking for.

What information does Crunchbase supply?

Once a company is selected from the dropdown menu, the following columns will be populated with Crunchbase data:

• Description
• # of employees
• Industry
• Headquarters location
• Company profile

How to use the dropdown menu

This app is simple to use. You don't need anything other than the company's name!

Company name

This app autonomously pulls in data from Crunchbase using the company's name. You must input an
identified company to pull in the correct data. For example, if you input "monday", a few options will generate in the dropdown. Select the correct company from the list to trigger enrichment. Then, you'll learn all about us!

What information does Crunchbase supply?

Once a company is selected from the dropdown menu, the following columns will be populated with Crunchbase data:

• Description
• # of employees
• Industry
• Headquarters location
• Company profile

If you open the item view, you can open the menu (three dots) and select "Visit on Crunchbase" to redirect to Crunchbase see additional information:

Turn off data enrichment

monday CRM settings

Only Admins can turn off CRM data enrichment. This can be done by visiting monday CRM settings > "Enrichment suggestions":

Toggle "Accounts" to "Off" to deactivate enrichment on your account.

Restricting access

For the integration

At the moment, there isn't a way to restrict permission to certain groups. However, a board owner can lock the domain column to restrict users from triggering enrichment. 

For the dropdown menu

At the moment, there isn't a way to restrict permission to certain groups with this option either. However, board owners can limit item creation. As a result, other team members will not be able to manually enrich an item.

Limitations

Data enrichment, via both the integration and the dropdown menu, can only be used on your CRM Account's board.

When using the integration:

• The app requires an exact match. If there's a typo or the domain is incorrect, the app will not pull any information in from Crunchbase.
• The app will only enrich empty columns. The app does not overwrite data. For example, if you or a team member wrote "10" in the "No.of employees" column, when you enter the domain, the "No. of employees" column will not update.
• If a column is hidden or deleted, the app will not write data into that column.
• This app has a lifetime limitation; you can only enrich the data for 1,000 items. So use your power wisely! Only successful runs will count towards this limitation. 

When using the dropdown menu:

• You will only see the company options in the dropdown when you create a new item on the board. You can't apply enrichment to items that have already been created, and you can't apply enrichment to items created from a form.
• The app requires an exact match. If you input a company that is not listed in Crunchbase by choosing "+ Add Account", the app will not pull any information in from Crunchbase.
• This app has a lifetime limitation; you can only enrich the data for 1,000 items. So use your power wisely! Only successful runs will count towards this limitation.
