What can we help you with?

Promoting an app on monday.com

At monday.com, we believe in your application’s potential in the marketplace and strive to help you promote it effectively to our user base through our marketing team.
This article will guide you through marketplace app promotions and how your app can be promoted to monday.com users.

Our Apps Marketplace

The app marketplace contains apps developed by third-party developers as well as apps built by the monday team using the apps framework. These apps assist monday.com users in analyzing and visualizing data in new ways, as well as collaborating more effectively across their organization.

Promoting an app

Our app marketplace marketing team uses an internal scoring system to evaluate apps based on predetermined criteria (see the parameters section below). This score is calculated by our review team and growth product marketing manager.
In addition to these considerations, we factor in conversion rates from visit to install and from install to paid subscription after an app has been in the marketplace for 3 months.

We also consider the context and complexity of implementation of the app. For instance, we would not want to promote a complex app that requires a great deal of set up work in a short newsletter. Because we have targeted goals & spaces for promotions only specific apps will be promoted directly by our team.

Note: There are exceptions to these rules based on specific circumstances or exceptional performance on certain parameter

Key parameters for app evaluation

Our evaluation process is in-depth and focuses on several key parameters that determine whether or not an app gets featured.

See  parameters
  • Idea: We look for apps that solve a problem for a significant number of users. These could be vertical (industry-specific) or horizontal (universal) solutions.
  • Functionality: The app should be fully functional, providing features that meet our users' needs.
  • Usability: Usability comprises how easy it is to use your app, the UI design, and how well the app's functionality is explained to users.
  • Marketing assets: Effective and appealing marketing assets on your app page are crucial to attracting users.
  • Pricing: The app's pricing structure should be clear, fair, and justified by the value it provides to users.

Featured Apps and editor's choice

If your app meets the key parameters, it can receive the following distinct labels designated for standout apps:

  • Featured Apps

These apps provide broad solutions that can serve a large audience. They earn a highlighted spot in our store, drawing attention from a wider set of users.

  • Editor's Choice

This label is reserved for apps that stand out due to their innovation and fresh ideas. An 'Editor's Choice' app is highlighted in our store for its uniqueness and ability to push boundaries.

In-product pop-up suggestions

The in-product pop-up suggestions are triggered messages that appear once a user performs a certain action in the product that is related to your app's main value and functionality.

It’s important to mention that we are very cautious with our decision to add pop-up suggestions. In order to choose apps for pop-ups we consider two aspects:

  • Technical capabilities:

We have technical limitations that allow us to add only certain types of triggers. We create the suggestion case by case, therefore the triggers are relatively simple.

  • Experience considerations

Relevancy - We want to make sure we do not spam users, as they are working and we do not want to disturb them unless our offering is relevant to their work. Meaning both the app, and the use case must be relevant for the user.

App quality - only top apps that meet all the criteria mentioned in the first section of the article will be considered.
