Can I send an email to monday.com?

Yes you can! 😊 This is really helpful for when you have information in your email that you would like to be transferred into your monday.com account, for example, an order that you received from a customer or an actionable item that needs to be taken care of. Your e-mails can appear in your monday.com in two ways: either as a new item in your board or as a new update in a specific item. 📩


 Note: The first three sections of this article work only if you use an email that is registered in monday.com. If you wish to use an email from an email address that is not associated with your account, read our last section.

Send an email using Integrations! 

 Note: Currently, we do not offer the option to send an email from a monday.com address.


Send an email to a board

  • Step 1

Click the board settings menu (the 3 dots on the upper right of the board) and select "Email Preferences." 


  • Step 2

A window will pop up where you are able to copy the email address of the board. If needed, you can edit this address by clicking the pencil icon next to the email address. 



 Note: Only the admin and/or the board owner will be able to change this e-mail. 


  • Step 3

In your email, create a new email and set the subject of the email to be the NAME of the new item


  • Step 4

Set the body of the email to be an update for the update section of the item 

  • Step 5

Now you should see the item on your board! You will see a group is created at the top of your board with the items that you have created through email.  You are able to drag and drop these items into the right group! 


If you click in the item, you will be able to see the content of the email in the update section as below (it also works if you send a file): 


Send an email to an item

To do this, you should firstly ensure you have the email addresses of the item you’d like to email saved somewhere (on your email/phone).

  • Step 1

To find the email address of a item, click on the item within in a board so that the updates window pops out. Under the box “Write an update” you’ll see in the bottom right corner a link “Write Updates via Email”.


  • Step 2

Clicking on this link will reveal the email address of the item, for example, . You can take the default address or edit it to something more memorable. 



 Note: Every user that can edit the board will be able to change the item email address


  • Step 3

When you are ready to send an update from your email directly into the item, simply compose an email with the update you wish to appear in the item and send it to the email address for that item. The text will appear as an update in the updates feed of the item 😊



 Tip: To forward an email to a item, please copy and paste the email you'd like to send as the update into the top part of the email, as the email chain will not be sent.


Send an email from any email address

You are also able to send an email to your monday.com from an email address that is not associated with your account. To do this follow these steps:

Step 1

Click on your profile picture in the top right corner of the account.

Step 2

Choose My Profile > Email Integration


Step 3

Under "Update any item via email," you will find two options:

1. Item ID - which is to send an email to a pulse inside the updates section.

2. Board ID - which is to send an email to a board as a new item. 

Copy the address of your choice. 

Note: Please use these links cautiously and with discretion as these hold the account's API key.

Step 4

Go to the board/item you want to send items to, and copy the ID. For example, the board ID is the number at the end of the URL in your browser's address bar.
