My Focus

Managing your day to day and reaching a good work life balance is nothing short of challenging. Without solid planning, things can become quickly chaotic and affect your productivity - we've all been there! That's why we've created My Focus. 


Note: We care deeply about the quality of our products and want to provide you only with the best! Because My Focus wasn't performing as well as we anticipated, we have decided to discontinue its release to users. Not to worry - if you already have My Focus in your account, you can still continue to use it! If you encounter any problems, you can always reach out to our Customer Success Team and we'll do our very best to help you work through them!




What is My Focus? 

My Focus is a personal area that will empower you to take back control of your work-life balance and help you focus on what's really important. It is split into three categories:

  • Calendar
  • My Week
  • Check in

Where to find it

To access My Focus, click on the three bars menu located on the upper left of your mobile app, like this: 


Next, click on "My Focus"


And voilà! Let's now dive into each category of this feature. 



What is the "Calendar"?

Work is important, but so are your private tasks! Connect your personal calendar and schedule time slots for your specific monday.com tasks. This will allow you to have both your private and professional tasks in one single place and help you reach a better work-life balance. 


Note: Your calendar is private and visible only to you :)


Connect my calendar

Click on the cogwheel located on the upper left of your screen to open the settings. 


Here, you will be able to pick the calendar you'd like to display:


Note: If your calendar does not show up, please check our Troubleshooting section right below for additional help :)


Once done, click save and you will be able to see your personal calendar: 



Add your monday.com tasks

To add your monday.com tasks to your personal calendar, simply click on the '+' icon located at the bottom right of your screen.


Next, click on "Choose an item" 


You will be able to select specific items from your monday.com boards: 


Select a timeframe to complete this task: 


And you are done! 🙌 Now you will be able to see your private events as well as your monday.com tasks in one space.



Edit the time slot of your tasks

You can edit the time slot of any of your tasks from your calendar. To do so, click on the task and then on the calendar icon located on the upper right. You will then be able to pick a new time slot. 



Update your tasks from your calendar 

You can update your monday.com tasks directly from your calendar. So much easier than going into each board and looking for that specific task to update, isn't it? 😊



Calendar Troubleshooting

My calendar doesn't appear in the calendar list option 

This issue can happen if your calendar hasn't been added to your mobile phone settings. To do so, follow these simple steps: 

For iOS users

  1. Click on your iOS settings
  2. Select "Password & Accounts"
  3. Click on "add account"
  4. Select the calendar of your choice as below: 


For Android users 

  1. Click on your Android settings
  2. Select "Account and Backup"
  3. Click on "add account"
  4. Select the calendar of your choice as below: 



My Week

What is "My Week"

"My Week" is a great way for you to see everything you and your team need to accomplish this week, next week, or even what is overdue. It works by collecting all the tasks across your monday.com account that are due in the current week. This will help you get a better overview of what needs to get done and will help you prioritize better. 📆



How does it work?

For your tasks to reflect in "My Week", you will need to make sure to have the following columns associated with each task:  


Adjust your settings 

To adjust your settings, click on the cogwheel located on the upper left, like we did below: 


Here, you'll be able to decide if you want to see deadlines or tasks with dates that are not in deadline mode. For this, toggle between "only deadlines" or "all dates". 

If you manage members of your team or collaborate with other members of your team, it could be helpful to follow multiple members of your team. I work closely with my team member, Matt, so I follow Matt's tasks in addition to my own. 



Update your tasks from My Week

You can update any of your tasks directly from My Week. Simply click on the item you want to edit. Then, you can update information on the item, and the board will update automatically with these changes.





What is Check-in?

The check-in is a personal space visible only to you.

Here, you will be able to create custom questions that will be triggered at predefined days and hours. These questions are completely up to you to decide. It can be about your goals for the day, your accomplishments or just any personal life questions. Answering these questions creates a sense of commitment. You can see your answers later to retrospect on your growth. 



Adjust your settings

When clicking on Check-in, you will by default get the two questions below: 


Click on any of these questions. Next, click on the cogwheel located on the upper right of your screen to access the settings: 


Here, you will be able to customize the question as well as the specific days and time you'd like your monday.com app to trigger that question. 


These questions can be used as your daily or weekly goals. They will help you plan your day in advance and remaining focused on your goals. 


Create a new Check in question

Click the blue '+' at the bottom right-hand corner of your screen to create a new Check in question.


Next, you can customize the question and when you want to receive notifications reminding you to answer!


Disable Check in Notifications

If you don't want to receive notifications from your "Check In" questions, you can easily switch them off!

Click on the question you wish to disable, and click the cogwheel at the top right corner to launch the question's settings:


Click "Turn off Check In notification" at the bottom of your screen to no longer receive notifications from this question:


Alternatively, you can choose to delete the question altogether! Click "Delete" to remove this question from your Check In:
