Mobile app - How to add columns

With more than 25 columns available, you can customize your board exactly the way you want. Visit our column center to see all the columns you can add to your board right from your iOS or Android device!

How to add a column

There are two ways you can add a new column! Let's check them out. 

  • "Add" icon

When viewing your board, you'll see a '+' "Add" icon in a blue circle at the lower right corner of your screen. Click the button to expand the options: 


Next, select "New Column"


  • Scroll right

The second way to add a new column to your board is to scroll all the way to the right side of your board (by swiping left on your screen). After your last column, you should see the "+ Add Column" button. 



Accessing the Column Center

After you click "Add Column" or "New Column", you'll see a pop-up window at the bottom of the screen offering a list of some of our most popular columns. You can select from this list or choose "See all columns". 


This will take you to the Column Center, where you can view all of the columns available to add from your mobile app! 


Note:  At this time, all columns are available on mobile except for the Dependency Column, the Mirror Column, the Connect Boards Column, and the Button Column. However, if you have already added them to your board from your browser, you may still view them using your mobile app with limited capabilities. 


From there you can scroll through to add the column of your choice or utilize the search bar to find the exact column you're looking for.




Add a column description

A column description helps board members understand the purpose of the column! You can add, edit, or view a column description on your mobile app for all of your columns! 

  • View a column description

You know when one of your columns has a column description when there's an exclamation mark to the right of your column's name:


To view the description, simply click the column's name, click "Description", and it will appear at the bottom of the screen.


  • Add a column description

To add a column description, click the column's name, and then click "Description". 


A 'Description" window will pop up below, where you can click and begin typing in your column's description!


When you are finished typing, click "Save"!


  • Edit a description

To edit a description, click the column's name and then "Description" to open the description at the bottom of the screen. Now, simply click anywhere on the description and begin typing your edits! Don't forget to hit "Save" when you're done! 



Note:  If you cannot edit or add a description, check your column's permissions to see if you have access to these actions.
