The Chart View is a great way to see the analytics side of your workflow. With our chart widget, you can now pull out information from several boards and gather them all in one chart! This widget is a must have to enhance your workflow! Keep reading to learn how it works. 📊
How to add it?
Simply click on "Add widget" at the top of the Dashboard page and select chart as below:
Next, click on the cogwheel to start customising!
Choose your boards
Let's say we are managing two sales teams both in different locations. We want to build a chart view to get data from the two boards combined. The first step is to pick the two relevant boards we want to get the data from:
Pick your chart type
Enjoy and create beautiful charts from our chart gallery. Whether you want a pie chart, a stacked chart or just any chart, we've got you covered! For more information about each type of chart, check out this article. In the settings menu, pick the chart type as below:
Choose the values
Choose the x-axis from the different column types in your boards. We can for example select "date" meaning that the x axis of your chart will reflect the different dates of each board.
If you have different dates columns in each board, you can select which specific column you'd like to display. You can customize it even more by clicking on group by. Whether you want the dates to be grouped by Day, Week, Month, Quarter, Year... we got you covered!
For the y-axis, select the numerical value or any of the columns in your boards. For example, we want to see the total budget spent per month for each team.
Sort your chart
You can choose the order of your values either you want it ascending or descending.
Add a Benchmark and cumulative data
In this view, you also have the option to display your chart as cumulative data. This is particularly useful if you want to see the progress over month. Each month will include all previous months plus the addition of the current month. For instance, if you are a sales team, this chart can be used to show progress of the sales over the quarter.
You can also add a Benchmark line to display the goal or the low/high threshold. 🙌
Choose your groups
You can pick which specific group of each board you'd like to see the value from. In this example, we want to see all months from each boards:
Filter your chart
You filter directly on your chart by using the board filters. It is a great way to display the exact information you need. On your chart widget, click on the filter icon as below:
Let's say we want to see the total amount of sales Lisa made over this quarter. We will select Lisa's avatar on our filter.
This will display the total amount of sales Lisa did over the last few month. We can even save that view by clicking on "save to this widget" to save your customized view.
