Dashboards are a great way to display what's important in just one place. With 15 available widgets users can now understand project progress, track budget, estimate teammates workload and much more! It allows to keep your team focused and motivated on the high-level goals and boost productivity!
What are the Dashboards?
The Dashboards are here to facilitate your workflow, and make sure you stay updated on what is happening in multiple boards. Create summaries, reports, and get a high-level view of everything that is important to you! Select and organize groups from multiple boards in one dashboard. Centralize your data in one location, and use our widgets to have all the tools and information you need in one view.
Adding a Dashboard
Step 1 - Add a Dashboard
To add, click on the '+ New' icon to create a new Dashboard as below:
Step 2 - Choose your Dashboard type
You can choose whether you want your dashboard to be public or private.
- If your dashboard is public, it will be visible by everyone in your account
- If you choose the private option, your dashboard will be visible only to you and the selected team members you invite to it.
You can change the type of your Dashboard anytime by clicking on the three dots menu (upper right of your Dashboard) and selecting "Change type to".
Step 3 - Add the Widgets
Your dashboard is made of different Widgets. You can use each Widget to display specific information from any board. To add a new Widget, simply click on the 'Add Widget' icon and select the type of Widget you would like to display.
Edit my Dashboard
You can edit your Dashboard at any point by clicking on the pencil icon located in the upper right of your screen as below:
Once you are done, click on the pencil again to exit the editing mode.
Delete your Dashboard
Once you create your Dashboard, a new blank Dashboard will be created. You can click on its title to rename it. To delete your Dashboard, click on the three dot menu located on the upper right and select 'Delete'.
⚠️ WARNING ⚠️
We currently don't have a recycle bin for the Dashboards. This means that once you delete a Dashboard, it will be gone for good with no option to recover it. Our developer team is working hard on improving this. Stay tuned for further updates very soon!
Print my Dashboard
To print your Dashboard, click on the three dots menu on the upper right of your Dashboard and select "Print Dashboard". You can also use the shortcut Cmd + P on Mac and Ctrl + P on PC.
With the presentation mode, you can present your Dashboards nicely! No more left pane, buttons or icons. This setting is great if you'd like to display your Dashboard on TV or big screens. Click on the three dots menu of your Dashboard and select "Presentation Mode" as below:
Who can see my Dashboard?
There are two types of Dashboards: Main Dashboards and Private Dashboards.
- Main Dashboards
If your Dashboard is a Main Dashboard, everyone in your account will be able to see it. In your Main Dashboard, you can also invite guest users.
- Private Dashboards
If you choose the private option, then your Dashboard will be visible to you and the selected team members or guests you invite to it.
You can share your Private Dashboard with your team members and guests super easily! Click on the person icon located on the upper right of your dashboard. From there, you will be able to add your team members or guests.
- Which information can my guests and users see?
Guests will be able to see only Widgets linked to shareable boards they are part of. The same way, team members will only be able to see information from boards they have access to.
This means that if you invite a guest to a Dashboard and that one of the Widget includes information from a board he hasn't been invited to, he will not be able to see that Widget.
Share my Dashboard
You can share a Private or Main Dashboard with anyone you want! Send them a shareable link or an email straight from monday.com!
Click the 'Share' button at the top right corner of your Dashboard and select 'Invite to this dashboard':
You can choose whether you want to invite your guest using a shareable link or by email! For a shareable link, click 'Copy' beside the link and paste wherever you want! To invite by email, simply type your guest's email into the field and click 'Send'!
You can change your Dashboard into dark mode. Go to your hamburger menu on the top right > Switch to Dark Mode.
Your dashboard will now go into dark mode. To switch back, you can follow the same steps.
Once you have set up your Widget you can even filter it! Click on the Filter option on the Widget as below:
Type what the information you'd like to filter and click on save to save your filter as below:
The filter term will stay until you change it (also after refresh).
Now that we covered all the basics, let's dive into the different available widgets.
The Workload Widget is a great way to see how your team's work is divided and the upcoming timeline for everyone's tasks in one place. If needed, you can always reassign or change due dates to make sure every stays on target with the amount of tasks they can complete within that timeframe. With this Widget, you can now have these insights from multiple boards in order to make sure your team is set for success. It is a must have to enhance your workflow!

With our Calendar Widget, you can now pull out information from several boards and gather them all in one calendar view! That will allow you to get a high-level picture of what's happening across multiple boards in one place.
The Battery Widget allows you to keep track of the progress of your boards in just one place. You can also combine the progress of several boards in one single battery icon. The Counter Widget will display any numerical column you have on your board. This Widget is great to get an overall sense of where projects stand in regards to numbers, to track total costs or numbers of multiple boards in one place! Check out this article to learn more about it.
The Table Widget allows you to display multiple boards in one view. In addition, you can select which specific group from each board you want to see. Upgrade Your Dashboard's Structure
Great news - we've completely redesigned the dashboards! If you don't see the new structure on your account, follow these simple steps to activate it!
Click your profile picture and select "monday labs" like this:
Beside each update, you'll see a green "Active" label, letting you know which new features are already active on your account! Beside each new inactive feature, you'll see a red "Inactive" label and an "Activate" button so that you can add the feature to your account! Click "Activate" beside "New dashboards data structure" to begin working with this new-and-improved version!
Next, head over to one of your dashboards, and click the 3 dot menu at the top right corner. Select "Upgrade dashboard infrastructure" and enjoy all of the awesome improvements!
