The Dashboards

Dashboards are a great way to display important information, viewing all projects in a single layout. With over 30 available widgets and apps, users can now understand project progress, track budget, estimate teammates' workload, and much more! They help keep your team focused and motivated on the high-level goals and boost productivity!

What are Dashboards?

Dashboards are here to facilitate your workflow and ensure you stay updated on what is happening in multiple boards. Create summaries and reports and get a high-level view of everything that is important to you! Select and organize groups from multiple boards in one dashboard. Centralize your data in one location, and use our widgets to have all the tools and information you need in one view.

Note: A Dashboard can be deleted but not archived. If you are the owner of a Dashboard, you can delete it by clicking on the three dots next to the dashboard name and selecting "Delete".

Choose your Dashboard type

You can choose whether you want your dashboard to be public or private.

  • If your dashboard is public, it will be visible to everyone in your account
  • If you choose the private option, your dashboard will be visible to you and the selected team members you invite.

Note: To learn more about the different Dashboard types and the permissions in each, read our article on Dashboard permissions.

Configure your Dashboard

Your Dashboards pull data from connected boards to display your projects, workflows, tasks, and more in a visually concise and productive format. How you configure your Dashboard will determine which data is presented and how. The configuration includes choosing boards to connect to your Dashboard, editing the layout of your Dashboard, and adding and formatting widgets.

Check Dashboard capacity

To ensure that your dashboard runs smoothly, dashboards with 3K+ items, containing only supported widgets, will be automatically upgraded to a new dashboard engine. This dramatically increases the performance of your dashboard. You will see a notice box appear in the bottom right-hand side of your screen, informing you of your dashboard upgrade.

We have also incorporated a max limit of 20K total items, subitems, and linked items across all boards connected to the dashboard. If you load a dashboard with more than 20K items, a message will appear with an explanation and a prompt to disconnect some of your boards.

A Dashboard can hold up to 30 different widgets, where the number of Text Widgets is not included in the 30 limit count.

Tip: If you are looking for a more comprehensive and customized solution, check out the dashboard hub app. This app can be found in our app marketplace and effortlessly creates and shares powerful dashboards and charts.

Dashboard permissions

Dashboard permissions or restrictions give the Dashboard owner control over what information can be viewed and changed on the Dashboard level. This includes inviting team members and guests to subscribe to your Dashboard and the various permissions afforded to them based on their role.

Filter your Dashboard

You can filter the information you see on your dashboard by clicking the funnel "Filter" icon in the top right corner of your dashboard. From the pop-up window, you can choose which board you'd like to filter from the drop-down list of connected boards.

You can choose from two different types of dashboard filters: quick filters, which allow you to filter by board, group, or any of the columns on your boards, and advanced filters, which allow you to filter your dashboard according to specific conditions that you can customize. Add as many as you want, and they will work together simultaneously!

Tip: Looking to filter just one widget rather than the whole dashboard? Or wanting to filter by your board's subitems? Check out our Filter your Dashboard article to learn how!

Share and present your Dashboard

Whether you’re collaborating with internal team members or external partners, sharing and presenting your dashboards is simple and seamless. You can choose to export your Dashboard or use the various presentation modes to display your Dashboard in all its glory!
