How to use the Slack internal integration?

You can now create pulses directly from your Slack account thanks to our Slack internal integration 🎉 🎉 🎉

How to set it up?

Click on your avatar located on the bottom left of your screen and select "integrations". Under Slack, click on "activate"

You will then receive two security pop-ups. The first one is to allow to access your Slack information. Make sure to click "authorize".

The second one is to allow Slack the access to some of your information such as your personal details and your boards.

How to use it?

This integration allows you to create a new pulse directly from your Slack direct message or any Slack channel you are part of. It also allows you receive messages on a specific Slack channel each time you are making a change on your board.

When in the channel, type /monday as in the screenshot below:

You will have two options: monday board subscription and monday pulse.

  • monday board subscription

This integration allows you to receive messages on a specific Slack channel each time you are making a change on your board.

Step 1: Create a channel

Step 2: Select /monday-board-subscription and press enter

Step 3: Pick the board you would like to be linked to your channel

Whenever you are done, you should receive the following message:

Each time I will change something on my board, this will reflect in my Slack channel. It is an amazing way to keep track of all the activity in a board. You can also see what has been changed in real time by looking at the hour on the left of your message.

  • monday pulse

Select the second option "/monday [pulse name]". Once done, type the name of your pulse. For this article, let's take an easy example: we want to add the pulse "Ice Cream" from Slack to our office supply board.

Once done, pick the board and the group you would like to have your pulse created on. You can type the name of your board directly in the search bar to access it quickly.

Once the integration is set up, you can click on "go to pulse" to see your new pulse in your monday board.

Note: Whenever you create a new pulse from a Slack channel you are a part of, only you will be able to see the new pulse you are creating.

How to cancel a board or channel integration for Slack?

  • Click on your avatar
  • Select "integrations"
  • At the bottom of the page, click on deactivate next to the integration you wish to disable.
