The monday AI blocks

monday AI is available across all of our monday products and has some unique uses in our more prominent features. In monday workflows, there are seven action blocks that use monday AI to achieve unique outcomes.

These are the current monday AI blocks:

• Write with AI
• Custom AI prompt
• Extract with AI
• Translate with AI
• Summarize with AI
• Improve text with AI
• Detect sentiment with AI

They are a great option for complex workflows that would benefit from AI insights.

How to use monday AI blocks

To access monday AI in monday workflows, open the workflow builder by clicking on the Workflow center icon. You can find this on the navigation bar on the top left corner of your screen:

From there, open an existing workflow to edit or create a new workflow by selecting + Add workflow:

You can add monday AI blocks at any step in your workflow. Type "AI" to search:

Once you set up a block, you can then refer to your monday AI result in a later action.

In the following example, I asked monday AI to detect the sentiment of an item's name. I then referred back to the sentiment when composing the text for an action later in the workflow:

Write with AI block

When you choose this block, monday AI will write text based on your instructions.

Writing your instructions

To write successful instructions, use clear and concise language. You must use at least one variable. Variables can be columns, board IDs, an item name, etc. When you click on the composer to write your instructions, a menu will pop up. You can use this menu to search for a specific variable or scroll to select one (or multiple) from the drop down.

After writing your instructions, you're required to choose the tone for the generated text and the length.

Tips

We have a few recommendations that should help you to create successful instructions using this block.

• We recommend using clear, concise instructions.
• Use at least one variable. As mentioned before, variables can be columns, board IDs, an item name, etc.

 

Custom AI prompt block

When you choose this block, monday AI will use your instructions to generate a custom action.

You can use this menu to search for a specific variable or scroll to select one (or multiple) from the drop down.

Extract with AI block

When you choose this block, monday AI will read the text you write in the Text to analyze field or the variable you refer to in this field and extract information.

You're required to choose the type of information that you want to extract from the Information type dropdown menu.

While there are designated information types, you can also choose to define a custom type of information. When you choose custom info, you can use the Describe what to extract field to tell monday AI what information you want to extract.

 

Translate with AI block

When you choose this block, monday AI will translate the text you write in the Text to translate field or the variable you refer to in this field.

You're required to choose the language that you want to translate to. Click on the Translate to field to open a dropdown menu and select your language.

 

Summarize with AI block

When you choose this block, monday AI will read the text you write in the Text to summarize field or the variable you refer to in this field. Then, it will summarize the text making it more concise and easier to read.

 

Improve text with AI block

When you choose this block, monday AI will read the text you write in the Text to improve field or the variable you refer to in this field. Then, based on your selections in the Settings, it will improve the text.

Settings

In the Settings section, you can choose the Length, the Tone, and the Text refinement level.

 

 

Detect sentiment with AI block

When you choose this block, monday AI will read the text you write in the Text to analyze field or the variable you refer to in this field. Then, it will detect the sentiment of the text.

To use this block, you must use at least one variable. Variables can be text, an item name, etc. When you click on the composer, a menu will pop up. You can use this menu to search for a specific variable or scroll to select one (or multiple) from the drop down.
